VP Lending – Nashville Opportunity Fund (NOF)

The VP Lending – Nashville Opportunity Fund (NOF) supports Pathway Lending’s mission, goals, values, and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: quality service, commitment, adaptable, and accountability.


Working under the policy direction of Pathway Lending and under the general supervision of the EVP/Chief Stakeholder Officer, the VP Lending, Nashville Opportunity Fund (NOF) reports to the SVP Lending .  This position assists in all aspects of Pathway Lending’s small business lending for the NOF with priority for strategic markets and distressed census tracts throughout Davidson County. This includes collaborating with the Director-NOF and other members of the Pathway Lending team to  engage with small businesses, small business ecosystem partners, and community organizations that operate within Davidson County. This position performs the critical function of gathering loan documentation, navigating clients through the application and review process, collecting impacts, and reporting data and assisting with compliance in deployment of the Nashville Opportunity Fund.



  1. Originates loans by generating new leads, building loan referrals from financial institutions and other business resources. Works in alignment with the Director-NOF and other Pathway’s lending team members to achieve increased lending and deployment of the NOF monies with emphasis on strategic markets and distressed census tracts throughout Davidson County. These duties and responsibilities are expected to result in meeting annual loan production performance requirements for the NOF.
  2. Prepares loan packages, provides excellent client service, and connects clients to  Pathway’s other programs, including small business education initiatives and advisory services.
  3. Assists with community engagement and outreach, coordinating with the Director-NOF in the small business ecosystem.
  4.  Provides support and coordination for Pathway as the organization builds and maintains relationships with other small business lending CDFIs, financial institutions and community organizations in strategic markets and distressed census tracts across Davidson County who will provide referral opportunities for NOF loa
  5.  Responsible for data integrity, application accuracy and impact collection throughout the loan application process.
  6.  Coordinates internally with Marketing, and Stakeholder staff to support the creation and distribution of tools, collateral and messages that increase Pathway’s visibility within their target market through a planned digital outreach and calling program.
  7.  Maintains a close working relationship with all internal partners including Credit, Lending and Education to maintain a strong working knowledge of technical assistance and education offerings which may be shared with clients.
  8.  Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting or Finance or work experience and education in this job capacity is required. Two years’ lending experience is required with tasks requiring organization and prioritization. Prior experience serving small business clients, working within small business support programs, and contributing to reporting and economic outcomes is highly desired. Knowledge of small business loan documentation is a plus. Must have experience in navigating customer issues and the ability to perform in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
