EU-US Comparative Perspectives on Sustainable Finance Law – 3 maart 2023 (Leuven/Yale)  – Corporate Finance Lab

We are pleased to invite you to our conference on Comparative Perspectives on Sustainable Finance Law, jointly organized by the Yale Law & Business Society and the Jan Ronse Institute, on 3. March 2023.

Regulators on both sides of the Atlantic are reshaping the financial rulebook to support the transition towards a more sustainable economy. The conference offers a pioneering forum to compare sustainable finance regulations in force in the EU with the regulatory initiatives that are now proposed in the U.S. Identifying similarities or insurmountable differences between the EU and US approaches towards sustainable finance will shed light on which, if any, common transatlantic transformations of the financial system are to be expected.

The conference opens with a keynote speech by Professor Veerle Colaert, discussing the conflicts arising between sustainable finance and traditional objectives of financial regulation. The speech is followed by four legal expert panels, addressing the relationship between sustainability and investor protection, financial stability, monetary policy and corporate governance.  Jan Ronse institute members Arnaud Van Caenegem, Joeri De Smet, Pieterjan Heynen, Tom Vos and Marleen Och will present on the various panels.

The conference takes place on 3 March 2023 at Yale Law School.

Interested participants can view the programme and register for free via the following link: https://yaleconnect.yale.edu/YLBS/rsvp_boot?id=1958192.
